Ariane Varela Braga (* 1978 France) studied Art History, English language and literature and Sociolgy at the University of Geneva, where she graduated in 2002. She was a Scholarly Member of the Swiss Institute in Rome between 2008 and 2011. In 2013, she received her Ph.D. from the University of Neuchâtel. Her doctoral dissertation, under the supervision of Prof. Pascal Griener, was untitled “Retrouver l’unité. La Grammar of Ornament d’Owen Jones et la construction d’une théorie universelle de l’ornement au mileu du XIXe siècle.
